THE DIE CAST PRESS STORY

Die Cast Press was started in 1979 by Kasper Smidt III after his father who owned Die Cast Machinery (since 1963) retired from his company. DCP started manufacturing trim presses, rebuilding die casting machines and manufacturing parts for all makes of die cast machines.

In 1985 DCP incorporated and started the manufacturing of new DCP shot ends, new hot and cold chamber die cast machines and custom manifolds to update our customers’ machines. A second manufacturing facility was built for this production.

In 2013 we expanded our facility to a 25,000 square ft. building including a 40′ high bay and an 80 ton crane to accommodate larger machines up to 3500 ton.

In 2018 we added larger equipment lathes up to 360” between centers and boring mills to handle larger platens up to 70,000 lbs.
